here goes the silly season started, but a link to Ibra really?

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is reportedly interested in a swap deal with Juventus that includes young phenoms James Rodriguez and Paul Pogba. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has found himself with an increasingly marginal role at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and Los Blancos may look to offload the Colombia international in order to strengthen the side in other areas of the pitch.

According to Spanish publication El Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid will attempt to use James as a makeweight for Bianconeri star Pogba, as the Frenchman continues to be linked with top clubs across Europe.  The 23-year-old is valued at approximately €100 million and with James’ value stagnating in his second season with Los Merengues, the Spanish giants would likely need to include a considerable fee in order to force a deal. This is the second recent high-profile player exchange that has been rumoured between the two sides, as talks surfaced in March in regards to a   potential deal involving Isco and Alvaro Morata.

Premier League side Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign Juventus and Roma target, Mehdi Benatia. The defender could potentially leave Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign, and the Gunners are now prepared to lock horns with some of Serie A’s elite in a bid to acquire his in-demand services.

According to The Daily Star, the Morocco international is on Arsene Wenger’s transfer list, after Bayern recently demonstrated their ambition to sign Borussia Dortmund defender, Mats Hummels. The defender was previously a target for Juventus during his time in Italy and they have recently rekindled their interest in the player, whilst the Giallorossi are also keen in re-signing Benatia, as coach Luciano Spalletti aims to bolster his defensive line-up. The former Udinese man has only managed to accumulate 12 Bundesliga appearances throughout the season.

  1. Are we actually going to have last season’s top two goalscorers (Dybala and Higuaín, of course) next season together with last season’s top two assist makers (Pogba and Pjanic each providing 12 assists). Champions League triumph, I hope. FORZA LA JUVE!

  2. I tried for tickets… a day or two before before the west ham game I called them again.. the call came to a point where the person seemed to say that there is one ticket but then said oh no gone now or something dammit… whilst that was supposed to be an opening ceremony for the stadium I think they must have felt that they didn’t really want to celebrate the Olympic stadium move.. I guess if it was a case where they were moving back to Upton Park or Boleyn Ground then there’d be a celebration.. I think west ham might be better on the road than at that stadium where the atmosphere is a problem… well it was a crap opening ceremony, but of course they knew that they could never match the display we put on for Notts County (I mean we had flying children, zebras, and everything else!)… it was, for me [and with a bit of bias of course!], THE BEST OPENING CEREMONY EVER.. better than any Olympic ceremony too.. 08/09/11 WELCOME HOME

Pogba? I think that it was actually one of his brothers in the car, and not Paul. No, look I guess we are about to dispose of his acquisition and registration rights and let him wander off back to them.. financially we have now made a big noise that we are on a par with the madrid, bayern, barcelona.. top 4. we always now need to belong in the UCL semi finals and try to win one, two, three more of these trophies before 2020… Higuain might not fit in at first.. we’ll have to play more like Napoli in going forward.. we’ll be OK… the UCL draws will be interesting.. I bet we get spurs, arsenal, man city if they qualify, porto and ajax.. I hope for a good route… we have co-efficient of 107.087, highest is real madrid of course 176.odd … http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2017/accesslist/listofparticipants/index.html

  3. Merci Paul, but I hope you flop in manchester
OK, I meant that we are in footballing terms on a par with madrid, bayern and barcelona, .. financially, no, but I meant that we have made a big noise with the Higuain purchase… Pogba has just been used as a pawn for us to boost our status… really, Paul is a fool to want to leave a winning team and go back to crappy Manchester hahaha fool… I guess he does have ‘unfinished business’ there though..

  4. I realise now that if France won the Euros and/or Paul had an even better tournament because he was a bit average most of the time for France, then we would have maybe not decided to sell him. I’ve just listened to him talking that he’s back home and feels like he was just away on holiday and that he wants to be the best etc. and feel that he might just flop. I hope now we sign some quality names maybe one or two from chelsea.. I think we should get Cuadrado back ’cause he was really useful last season..
