29 years ago today, I travelled to Brussels full of excitement at the prospect of seeing the majestic Platini and co sweep away Liverpool and lift the European Cup. Unfortunately, the game hasn’t lasted in my memory as much as the events in the stands at Heysel. As a 12 year old, I didn’t fully understand what was happening, but those sights, sounds and experiences will never be forgotten. 3 stars on the chest, 39 stars in our hearts.
