Juve win last friendly before Shamrock..
25 Jul 10 - Melo wants to stay. Adebayor could be on his way. D'agostino upset with Juve (no suprise)
Juventus warmed up for their Europa League tie against Shamrock Rovers with an encouraging 2-1 win against former French champions Olympique Lyonnais at the Stadio San Vito in Cosenza, Italy. Lyon took the lead early in the first half when Giorgio Chiellini pulled down Ishak Belfodil inside the Bianconeri penalty area and Ederson successfully converted the penalty. However, in the 26th minute Lyon defender Aly Cissokho was sent off. Soon after Amauri earned Juventus a penalty when he was pulled down by Dejan Lovren. Alessandro Del Piero then made it 1-1 from the spot. Deep in the second half Diego sent new Juventus signing Simone Pepe through for the Bianconeri's second goal of the match. It finished 2-1 to Juventus, who will now take on Irish club Shamrock Rovers next week in the first leg of their third qualifying round of the Europa League.

Motta: «We are creating a great group»
Just 20 days since his arrival, Marco Motta has already understood the Juve world very much. In the meantime, on the field, he is confirming himself as one of the liveliest while outside his statements are always punctual and mature. Even the words in Cosenza, after the victory against Olympique Lyon are a testimony of this: «Unfortunately we conceded the first goal of the season but otherwise we conceded very little. Tonight we confirmed we are on the right track and winning helps winning. The most important thing is that a great group is being created».

Legrottaglie: «It is nice to beat such important teams»
Before diving into the Europa League adventure, Juventus brought home a victory against a Champions League team. Beating Lyon, semi-finalist a few months ago in the most important competition, is a sign of the team’s improvement. Nicola Legrottaglie, a veteran and protagonist since the very first day of the training camp in Pinzolo, drew a balance of these first 20 days of work. «It is always nice to beat an important team like Lyon, especially while not risking anything like we did tonight. We are improving one day after another both from a physical and a tactical point of view».

Del Neri: «We didn’t suffer much but we can improve»
Juve is improving one step after another. Compared to the match last Sunday against Hamburg, Juventus managed to beat a more fearsome opponent like Olympique Lyon. The inclusion of the internationals (Chiellini, Marchisio, Pepe and Poulsen) allowed a further leap in quality.
The 2-1 against the French side is good especially in view of Thursday’s match against Shamrock Rovers. Del Neri drew other indications and can be satisfied: «We worked very hard in the last few days but there is still much to be done and we can improve further. Tonight we conceded very little, it is true they were with one man less, but seeing their value we could have even suffered with a man more. On Thursday we will be playing against an easier team on paper but we must be careful. The players? Diego did what I expect from him. Pepe is motivated and has a working culture. Marchisio did well. With the role he has he couldn’t play for the full 90 minutes. The team is improving and but to get closer to being what I have in mind we need more time. The group is motivated and careful. Sometimes a bit too careful. When we learn how to stay on the field we have the great players who can make a difference».

Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo has no intention of leaving Juventus and hopes the Bianconeri will give him another chance following his disastrous debut season. The former Fiorentina player was signed for £20m last summer and failed to live up to expectations both with Juve and his national team. “I want to stay with Juve and next season I will do well,” claimed Melo. “I come back here with the best of intentions. I want to make up for my errors and won't fall for it again. I owe it to this club, my teammates and the fans. “Even when I was away I received calls of support from Turin. I wasn't alone because I felt part of a group here. “Beppe Marotta told me to be calm because the club had faith in me. I will thank them on the pitch by having a great season. Del Neri agreed with Melo and will give the boy another chance this season.
“He is a talented player and I wouldn't swap him for someone of the same level,” noted the former Sampdoria boss. “We will give him a chance. He is an important player for us but he has to behave like one too.”

All very well trying to get another striker but at what cost, Adebayor might come on loan but look at his wages to much for a second level striker, sorry but no thanks unless he takes a pay cut..
Juventus believe Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor could be an ideal alternative if their move for Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko fails. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, general director Giuseppe Marotta will attempt a final assault for Dzeko this weekend with a €30 million (£25m) bid, short of the reported €40m (£33m) asking price. However, should their last ditch attempt prove fruitless it is thought the Old Lady will turn their focus to Adebayor.
City are also looking monitoring the situations of Dzeko and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Citizen's chief Roberto Mancini planning to use Carlos Tevez and David Silva alongside Roque Santa Cruz in his attacking line-up this season. Such a plan would leave little room for the Togolese hitman, giving Juventus scope to land Adebayor on a loan deal for the season and pay his wages, believed to be around the €5.5m (£4.6m) mark. The Old Lady are also said to be willing to offer Mohammed Sissoko as part of the deal for Adebayor.

This is a legacy of what Ferrara has left, Diego was signed by Ranieri rebuilding programme also he was ready to sign D’Agostino as he saw what he was, but failed to do so as he was released before the deal was done, Ferrara took over and signed Melo instead great thanks Ciro..
Fiorentina's new signing Gaetano D'Agostino admits that Juventus hurt him last summer when they decided not to buy him from Udinese. Juventus were in talks with Udinese for months, but ultimately balked at D'Agostino's valuation. They then went out and signed Felipe Melo from Fiorentina for much more money. D'Agostino was gutted having made no secret of the fact that it would be a dream to play for the Turin giants. “It's normal that I was a little hurt last year,” he said. “It happens when people talk about you a lot and make promises that aren't kept. “Anyway, I am happy with how things have gone. The back and forth with Juve lasted three months. We closed a deal with Fiorentina in three days. “It was destiny that I came here to Fiorentina, one of the biggest clubs in Europe and not to Juve. I will do everything to repay the faith they have shown in me. “To the fans, I say that we'll try and finish fourth. I know that the match against Juve is felt the most in Florence, but we must feel the same way about all the games. “Anyway, I'd prefer to lose against Juve if it meant that we qualified for the Champions League.”
